Administration Support to the Managing Director

My journey with Resilience Learning Partnership began in July 2021 when I joined RLP Crafty Kids as a volunteer.  My motivation to join RLP Crafty Kids stemmed from my daughter receiving a craft box during the pandemic, and I wanted to contribute to this remarkable initiative.  I enjoyed working on ideas for the selfcare and craft boxes, and putting these together when we received orders.  Creating activity sheets for the craft items allowed me to use my imagination and creativity, and this was a particular task I thoroughly enjoyed. The RLP Crafty Kids team consists of wonderful individuals who warmly embraced me and made me feel valued.  Volunteering led to the formation of incredible friendships.


Subsequently, I had the privilege of participating in the TIER pathway, which allowed me to focus on my personal goals and aspirations while also bolstering my self-confidence.  The weekly sessions with the exceptional facilitators were immensely enjoyable, and I gained valuable insights into the effects of trauma on others as well as myself.  Witnessing the growth and increased confidence of the group I was a part of, was truly inspiring.


Upon completing the TIER pathway, I received a fantastic opportunity to work part-time as an Administration Support to our Managing Director, Shumela Ahmed.  I began this role in September 2022 and every day brings new challenges, knowledge, and experiences. Part of my daily tasks involve diary management and monitoring of Shumela’s mailbox.  Although I possess ten years of administration experience from the private sector, which was some years back, I will forever be grateful to the management team for granting me the chance to return to an administrative role.  Their continuous encouragement and support have been invaluable.


I enjoy being part of this team and look forward to celebrating the numerous achievements that Resilience Learning Partnership will undoubtedly accomplish in the future.
