Nicki Peachey

TIER Facilitator

I had been working in residential care for 4 years and before in community work for almost 3 years. I left community work to return to education to study social care. During my time studying and through my placement I became interested in childhood trauma and how I could use my own lived experience to work with others.

I began working one day a week doing admin while still working in residential care.  In October 2021 Shumela offered me the opportunity to work within TIER as a facilitator extending my working days and I left my role in residential care.

I really enjoy being part of the TIER pathway seeing people who attend realise their own strengths and look at making their own goals. Seeing people build peer to peer support and build relationships and seeing how they support and encourage each other is what makes being a TIER facilitator for me.

I love the way although you have a job role within RLP you can be involved in various projects that are running and have input in focus groups.
